Research Activities: Creative Writing Workshops

In September 2010 we ran two Creative Writing and Dance workshops around the Rambert Dance Company's new production, Awakenings. The performance was at the Lowry Theatre in Salford and the workshops were held the following weekend at The Museum of Manchester.

For this activity the objective was to explore the use of creative writing workshops with audience members as a way of enhancing, supporting and transforming the kinds of languages that audience members use to describe their experiences of watching dance.

We have been running a blog alongside this research to chart the course of the experiment, including describing the pragmatical and methodological preperations for the workshops.
